WHAT WE DO
The New River Officers’ Spouses’ Club (NROSC) is a private, non-profit organization established to provide a social and supportive atmosphere for our members while raising funds that will enable us to continue a tradition of giving to charitable organizations and scholarship programs benefiting military families.
Our club gives funds every year to the following areas:
If you are a member or group in our military community and are in need of financial assistance, feel free to contact us at email@example.com for more information.
The NROSC Charitable Distribution Committee distributes funds to charitable organizations and scholarship programs benefiting military families.
Our 2019-2020 Charitable Distributions recipients were awarded a total of $3953.99. Our organization proudly supported the following organizations with their specific work towards assisting military families and veterans in our local community and across the country.
Applications for 2020-2021 Charitable Distributions can be downloaded here. Please complete before March 30, 2021.
The Holiday Cheer program purchases commissary gift cards to be distributed to service members and families, aboard New River, in need of holiday meal assistance. Each year, this program graciously assists over 100 families.
The OSC has proudly been involved with Holiday Cheer for many years and humbly continues to serve the Marines, Sailors, and families of New River.
Festival of Trees
Every year the New River OSC provides a tree for The Onslow Caregivers, Inc. Festival of Trees. This annual festival is held at the American Legion Hall in November just before Thanksgiving. The festival showcases fully decorated trees provided by various organizations in the Jacksonville area.
Proceeds from the event help Onslow Home Health and Hospice fund the many programs they offer.
The intent of our scholarships has always been, and will continue to be, to support our local military families and their pursuit of furthering their educational goals.
NROSC scholarship applications are available in two forms: (1) Graduating High School Senior Scholarship Application (2) Spouse Scholarship Application.
Please ensure completion of the application relevant to your particular position.
